Great for fermenting small batches of beer, wine, or mead, or storing overflow from a larger batch. Very good for aging brews. Comes with a Bung and Airlock. 
 
Glass doesn’t scratch and is easier to clean (scratches in plastic can harbour bacteria)
They last longer than plastic fermenters (in most cases)
They are non-porous so there is no chance of oxygen getting to your beer/wine (over long periods)
